Recommendation “Make English Alive for Work” based on “self-
directed learning” is appropriate for CU Grad. staff.Thailand as the regional hub for various
collaborative development programs/projects of ASEAN due to its strategic location.
This can be a hindsight to human resources development such as English training for Thai village
health volunteer (VHV) along border areas within ASEAN, particularly in response to (1) 2005
International Health Regulation (2) Public health human resource development.
As public academic service by higher education institutions in the locality.
Emphasis on everyday life practice; VHV’s tacit knowledge; and English language self-directed learning.
