THE SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER !

Have you ever seen the handmade posters around the school that advertise the six pillars of charac-ter? The six character traits are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Well, if you have, it’s the Character Leadership team that makes them when they meet after school two Mondays a month. The Character Leadership team consists of: Bailey, Emma K., Skylar, Lily, Gabby, Mor-gan, Grace, Jack, Ashley, Renee, Isabelle, Julia, Emma R., BJ, Chris, Mighty, Cole and Keegan. Mrs. O’Conner is the teacher advisor.

This group helps the community and the Gaudet school community by doing the beach clean-up on

earth day and making cards for war veterans. They try to improve the school spirit and try to make people

happy.

Have you seen the brown bags that have a

pillar trait on them? Well, the team makes the

bag. They read books about bullying to the fourth

graders. They get to go on field trips and they say

it’s very fun. They also make announcements

regularly. We also found out the team likes to

dance.

Gaudet Middle School

Gaudet Middle School you say? Well, every time I think of that place, I think of para-dise. Of every Middle School I have ever gone to, I can say that this is definitely the best! But then again this is the only one that I have ever been to. The best feeling I had when I entered this school was that I knew that I was not the only new kid in this place. How did I know this you say? Well, because I knew that once you first enter this school, from the beginning, then you realize that everyone around you is new along with you.

Fourth grade is the just the start of this place. You won’t have to feel like other people know

this place by heart. They have no idea where they are going, if you just tell them the name of a

class and walk away, they’ll be missing for DAYS! Yeah you will feel left out once you pass by the

older kids, but just think, “ I will be one of them sooner or later!” Also, if you really think, once the

eighth graders leave for high school, freshman year is just like being in fourth grade all over again.

It’s your new year in that school just like it was your new year in Gaudet so don’t feel pressured to

do something just because you want to be one of the older kids.

HOT OR COLD By Michaela B.

Have you ever not known if you wanted hot lunch or cold lunch? Is one

better then another? Well, I took a vote of the people in newspaper, and got opinions. There are ad-

vantages and disadvantages of both. Which one do you have more often and which one do you like

more?

There are some advantages to cold lunch. You can pick out what you like and bring it. If you pack

it yourself then you know what you’re having. Some people are not comfortable bringing money to

school because they are afraid that they will lose it and if you have cold lunch you don’t have to.

Some people do not like what hot lunch is serving that day so they bring cold lunch. Some disad-

vantages of cold lunch are you have to bring more stuff to school because of the lunch box. It takes ex-

tra time in the morning or at night to make your lunch. When your parents make your lunch you might

not like it. You can forget your lunch box in your locker or in the lunch room. Those are some ad-

vantages and disadvantages to cold lunch.

An advantage to hot lunch is that your food is warm. There are many options to choose from. It is

easier for your parents because they don’t have to make your lunch. Some disadvantages are some

families can’t afford to get hot lunch. You have to wait at your lunch table until it gets called. You don’t

always like what the school is serving. Those are some advantages and disadvantages to hot lunch. The

vote question was, “Which one do you have more often?”

Johnny Depp was born on June 9,1963.The first

movie he was in was Nightmare on Elm Street. He played

the football player. The movie he is most famous for is

Walt Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp was born in Kentucky and raised in Florida.

He dropped out of school at age 15 with hopes of becom-

ing a rock musician. He fronted a series of garage bands

including The Kids, which once opened for Iggy Pop. I

think Johnny Depp is a very interesting actor!

Hi! I am Book Brain. I review books

that I read. I tried to explain the book in the

best way I possibly can. Well hope you enjoy

this book review!

Warriors …… Is a book about cats. I personally think

you have to be interested in long series,

complex stories, and fantasy. These books

are about cats that live in the wild.

They have names like Blue Fur. If and

when a cat becomes leader of a clan [a

group of cats joined together. Examples: The

four clans are Thunder Clan, Shadow Clan,

River Clan, and Wind Clan. ] The leader re-

ceives nine lives from another clan, Star

Clan. Star Clan is a group of worthy cats who

have passed away. Then, the leader gets a

new name. Example: Blue Fur would be-

come Blue Star, Fire Heart would become

Fire Star, and I think you get it. The cats,

starting from a kit [kitten] get three or four

names. The beginning of the name stays the

same but the end changes from kit, paw,

and something original that describes the

cat. See? I told you it was complex!

Tornado in Tennessee (based on a true story) By: Caroline

Part 3 of: Safe My Dad had gone to Virginia to see his ill grandmother. My mom was downstairs cooking dinner

while my three sisters and I were watching Shrek. As my mom was watching the weather report on chan-

nel 10, she suddenly yelled, “Girls come down stairs!” We all scurried down the stairs. Then the lights

stared to flicker.

We all went down to the pantry and sat as still as we could. It was a tornado! (That is when two dif-

ferent temperatures come together) .Sirens started howling, windows were shattering by the front porch.

We had to stay in the pantry because it was not safe to be by the windows. We had to sleep on cold choc-

olate milk cans and had no blankets. We had to stay there in the pitch black. My mom was on the com-

puter watching the news and making sure everything was ok. Three hours later the noise finally stopped.

That was my first tornado out of 7 of them.

Her birthday is December 13, 1989 and

she is currently 23. She is from Oklahoma but now

lives in Nashville Tennessee. Carrie has one broth-

er and his name is Austin Swift. Taylor’s albums

LORD OF THE RINGS COMING BEFORE THE HOBBIT MOVIE (Editorial) By Ben P.

Honestly I watched and read the book. It was the best movie I have ever seen until I was disap-

pointed by the ending.

I never have watched the Lord of The Rings sequels or read the books, but I was lucky when I

found that the Hobbit went last. REALLY? The sequels come first and The Hobbit was the first in the story

AND the book series. I’m not trying to be negative here but this is spoiling the reason you will watch the

next movie. The Lord of the Rings already came out which if you may have already watched, it ruined

from the ending of The Hobbit. It’s not a spoiler, BUT, if it is a spoiler to you I will translate this spoiler in

a different language just in case you take it as one.

MY STORY OF ME BEING BULLIED IN 5TH GRADE By Jamui K.

It all started with me sitting down at my desk when I heard a SPLAT! Kim had al-

ready touched my stuff like I am a bad person and slapped it off my desk. I AM NOT A BAD PERSON. I nev-

er talk to her and she always treats her friends nicely so I said “So you treat people you know nicely, but

people out of nowhere not nicely?” I do not think your parents would like how you would treat people out

of nowhere like they are nothing when you haven’t met them, seen them, etc.

By the way I said that in front of her friends so they were surprised that someone had stood up to a

mean girl. Kim is doing even meaner stuff these days with her partner Chloe. With them together they

make a bossing group with the power of two bullies.

I am resistant to 95.95% of bullying by the way but if you ever get bullied get help there are bully

support groups that will help you avoid bullying.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Every revolution begins with a spark. It’s the second book of the New York Times best seller The

Hunger Games trilogy. Jennifer Lawrence portrays Katniss with co-star Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. They

have Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, Jena Malone as Johanna Mason. The film has a different director

then The Hunger Games which was directed by Garry Ross. Catching fire was directed by Francis Law-

rence. The teaser trailer was released at the MTV movie awards and presented by Liam Hemsworth

who is Gale.

In this movie Katniss senses a rebellion when she on the victory tour. When it comes time for

the Hunger Games she is sent back to the arena to compete in the second Quarter Quell. The capital

has sent the past victors back to the arena. Meanwhile things are rapidly changing in district 12. It was

mentioned in the first movie between Katniss and Gale that they sell to peace keepers. That has

changed. Gale faces punishment for hunting. In the arena is a clock where every hour something will

happen. That causes a huge problem for Katniss in the arena. Earlier Peeta tells the whole country that

they are married and she is pregnant. That helps Katniss think about if she makes it out alive who she

will want to spend the rest of her life with. In the end, when Katniss was in the arena the rebellion was

growing stronger and the rebels brake into the arena and Peeta is gone. That is where it leaves off.

What will happen, we will have to wait until Mockingjay. The Hunger Games: Caching Fire, November

Catching Fire Movie is Coming By Peter P.

The teaser trailer has been released for the sequel of the movie Hunger

Games, Catching Fire, which made a lot of money and even made the best selling

movie in all the categories in 2012. Now they eat out of more wallets by releasing a sequel!

Basically if you win the Hunger Games you show that you used skill not luck. In the first Hunger

Games, Katniss gained a lot of respect by taking her sister’s place in the Hunger Games and of course

winning.

I’m going to at least tell you that the movie looks good. The Hunger games had blood, fighting,

killing, and romance.

You can expect something from Peeta and Katniss’s relationship, but don’t expect everything from the

book.

Electronics and Sleep Patterns By now almost every house has some sort of electronic in the United States. Electronics affect us

in many ways. They can help us find a location or help us cheat on our homework. But they do affect us

in a bad way. Electronics effect our sleeping patterns. Strong light “whether it’s beaming down from the

Sun or from the screens of personal electronics can reset a person’s internal sleep clock”. The strong

light from these electronics reset our sleep clock. The pattern of your sleep and waking up is run by your

internal sleep clock. It is controlled by light. It tells you when to fall asleep and when to wake up. Your

sleep clock or circadian rhythm runs on a twenty-four hour cycle. The strong light that is

emitted by your electronic device effects the internal sleep clock. The light makes your

eyes think that it is daytime and takes longer for you to go to sleep.

There are two sides to this story. They mental side is your brain. Your brain reacts

to the electronic and it’s electrical activity increases. The neutrons start to race which is

the opposite of what should be happening before you sleep. There is also a physical side.

Responding to electronics makes your body tense but your body should relax before you

sleep. Not all of electronics are bad for your internal sleep clock. The Amazon Kindle

does not emit its own light. The IPod’s screen shines light directly into the users eyes. This also happens

with the iPhone. Electronics have helped us immensely but it effects us in many bad ways as well.

Did You Know Most Children Sleep Through Smoke Detectors? By Kate

Yes, it’s true when children are in a deep sleep they tend to sleep through smoke alarms. On NBC news, a man named Mr. Rossen tested the situation on kids. When they were in a deep sleep, none of them woke up! “No, didn’t hear it at all” the boys answered. Mr. Rossen discovered that what the kids did wake up to was the sound of their mother’s voice. Scientists are trying to make a voice recorded smoke detector so parents can record their voice saying wake up but, for now parents are just going to have to wake their kids up when the smoke detector goes off.

we fought back and we won. This is what inspired Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

In 1998 Jeff come up with the idea for Diary of a Wimpy

Kid, a story about a middle-school weakling named Greg Heffley.

Jeff worked on his book for almost eight years before showing it

two a publisher in New York. Their seemed like their was no hope.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney didn’t grow up

wanting to be a children's author. His dream was to become a

newspaper cartoonist, but he wasn’t able to get his comic strips

Water Wiz is a fun place for the whole family.

There are lots of spills and thrillers with 50 foot water

slides and lots more. It is also a good place for your little

brother or sister. They even have a giant wave pool! It’s

relaxing for your parents because there is something

called the lazy river which all you do is relax and float

down a river. Now, the best part in Water Wiz is called

Pirate Plunge. It is one of the tallest water slides there.

All you can see is complete darkness! There are a lot

more water slides like the mat rides they have.

lots of bad choices such as drugs, drinking, and

driving. That is why you should avoid being influ-

enced by Disney stars like Selena Gomez.

Remember kids, you should not look up to some-

one all the time just because they are famous. If

you are unsure of their choices please ask an adult

or go to Commonsense.org.

SUMMER

Summer is my favorite time of year! You can play outside and go to the beach. The beach or my Grandma’s pool are my two favor-ite places to go in the summer. I get to swim and play with my friends. During the summer, I have a lot of fires. My neighbors come over and we make smores (yummy). During summer I stay up all night either playing man hunt or having BBQS . I hang out with my best friend Emily having sleepovers. My most favorite part of the summer is my birthday!!!! Those are all my favorite things about summer!!!

Series of Unfortunate Events By Ben P.

I just read the best book ever! It’s called “Series of Unfortunate Events”. It’s a sad story about

these 3 kids named Sunny, Klaus, and Violet who have their parents die in a fire including their mansion.

They stay with someone called “Count Olaf” a.k.a the antagonist of the story. Since the kids cannot

reach the fortunes, the evil Count Olaf’s tries to steal them by marrying the 14 year old Violet.

Sadly this story is “very sad” but if I tell you more, it may ruin the whole book for you. The narrator tries

to be silly and is known as “Lemony Snicket”. This is the first

book of the series and there are 14 books.

Katy Perry first broke into the music industry in 2008 with her international chart topper, I Kissed

a Girl. In addition to her chart success, Katy Perry embarked on the California Dreams Tour in 2011 in

support of “Teenage Dream.” She sold out 124 arenas around the globe. A portion of ticket sales was

donated via Tickets-for-Charity to The Children’s Health Fund, Generosity Water and The Humane Society.

A portion of merchandise sales was donated to the Red Cross to benefit local disaster relief efforts.

One of her really catchy songs is called “Part of Me”. Some of the lyrics are; “This is the part of

me that you never ever going to take away from me no! This is the part of me that your never ever going

SURFING By: Kate

Surfing was invented in Hawaii. Surfing is a surface water sport. Surfboards can have up to 4

fins. Most surfboards are made of polyurethane, polystyrene, and fiberglass. Professional surfers need

to get a board fitted for them. Most waves that most people surf are in the ocean, but also can be found

in lakes or rivers. There are different types of surfing. There is longboarding, short boarding, and

standup paddle boarding. You can get pulled by a small motorized boat or jet ski that will help you catch

a bigger wave at a faster speed.

There are different types of waves, let’s start with a Barrel wave. Waves that break all at once

are called Close-Out waves. A Crumbly wave is when a wave is not steep, fast, or hollow. Double-ups is

when two waves meet and their crest and troughs align, which makes an even stronger wave. Surfing is

a very interesting sport. A lot of people enjoy it. It takes a lot of energy, but it is still super fun.

Spring to the beach

You may think that its too cold to go to the beach because when you think of the word, beach, you think about swimming in the ocean and the summer. You could go down to the beach and take walks with your family, play games, and you can even have dinner there. It may sound boring, but you could give the beach a hand and clean it up a little. Just grab some garbage bags and head down.

Some of the beaches you could go to on Aquidneck Island are Sachuest Beach, Third Beach, Peabody Beach, Bailys Beach, Eastons Beach, and of course, Gooseberry Beach. All of these beaches are great beaches to go to during the spring.

Again it may sound funny to go to the beach in the spring, but it is a nice thing to do rather than sitting inside all day doing nothing. During the summer, many Aquidneck Island residents go to the beach almost everyday. So, why not go to the beach at least once or twice during the spring? Remember, just because it’s the spring, doesn't mean you can’t go swimming. If you enjoy surfing, you could always get a wetsuit and surf in the spring. \

Every year there is the Polar-Bear plunge down at Eastons Beach. The Polar-Bear plunge is on January 1st. It may sound crazy but lots of people from around the island go swimming in the winter with just a regular bathing suit on.

You could head down to the beach anytime during the spring, you could even go down in the winter and the fall. But remember it does not have to be summer to head down to the beach!

Oz the Great and Powerful Editorial By: Cassidy

As most of you know, a new movie named Oz the Great and Powerful came into the movie theater

on Friday, March 7, 2013. I Saw The Movie on Sunday March 10th.

My family rated it:

My sister rated it at a 4

My Dad a 7.5

I gave it a 9.5

My Mom at a 10

My Dad thought it was a little “scary”, or not super kid-friendly. There were some parts that could

make some people jump, depending on how easily you get scared. My whole family jumped at one part

when… Oh wait! If I told you what parts, it would give the whole movie away! This movie defiantly remind-

ed me of a mystery movie because I kept guessing which witch was the evil one.

The movie, overall, was really good. For those of you haters out there who like the Wizard of Oz

and think that this is a copy or a stupid sequel, it’s not. This movie is a prequel. That means it takes

place before the original Oz. I heard that there is a Harry Potter prequel coming out explaining what hap-

pened to Harry’s parents, how their life went, stuff like that. I’m not quite sure that is true but it was just

an example.

This movie explains how the Wizard of Oz first defeated the wicked witch(s)))], how he got there,

and partly how his life was. The main characters are the three witches, Evenora, Glenda, Theadora, Oz,

Finley, and the China girl. Another thing I heard was a” sequel prequel” coming out. That means that it’s

like a part two to the first part of the prequel. They are already working on the next movie and my mom

and I guessed it will come out in 2014. We also guessed it would be about the ruby slippers because

they didn’t explain them in this movie. Overall the movie in my opinion was great and I can’t wait until the

second one comes out.

Fifth graders today and former fifth graders all love

Miss. Brown. Miss. Brown is a fifth grade teacher in cluster

1. We interviewed her and found out some very interesting

facts about her. For example, Miss. Brown’s favorite color is

yellow because it reminds her of warmth, the sun and hap-

piness. Miss. Brown NEVER gets annoyed or angry with her

students but, sometimes gets frustrated with them for not

realizing how smart they are.

Miss. Brown has been teaching for over 30 years!

Miss. Brown’s favorite subject to teach is ELA. (English Lan-

guage Arts) She has taught at Berkeley-Peckham , JFK, and

Gaudet. She LOVES teaching at Gaudet! Miss. Brown knew

when she was six she wanted to be a teacher. Miss Brown

moved to Gaudet when the fifth grade moved here. She

thinks that Gaudet Times should write about office, staff,

PTG, and spotlights on students and the janitors.

Gettysburg (Abe Lincoln’s Gettysburg address) By: Liam m.

The civil war was the bloodiest and goriest war of all time. It started when 11 Southern states

seceded to form their own country, called the Confederates. On the other side, Abraham Lincoln was

fighting for the Union. He wanted to stop the slave trade. One of the most famous battles of all time

was the civil war‘s battle of Gettysburg from July 1-3 in 1863.

For part of the war, the battle was in Richmond, Virginia. One of the generals from the union

was Joshua Chamberlain. He planned a northern attack to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. His army came in

on their horses all the way from Virginia to Pennsylvania. Commander of the confederate army Robert

E. Lee was a very good general who made wise choices in the war. Most people thought that he could

have won the battle.

Commander of the Union Army, Ulysses S. Grant (later became the 18th president of the USA),

found a turning point in this war. One of the most famous acts ever was on Little Round Top. Confeder-

ate troops charged up the peak to fire down on the men below, but Chamberlain stopped them. If he

hadn’t done this, the Battle of Gettysburg would have been one day shorter and the victory would have

been the Confederates.

After three tough, hard and bloody days, the war ended to the Union. Lincoln read his Gettys-

burg address. He was shot shortly after the war finished. Should Lee have fought another day? The bat-

tle of Gettysburg was only three days, and Lee had lots of cavalry. If he fought another day he would

have had a better chance of winning then just surrendering his army to Grant. Lee was a very good gen-

erals.

The civil war was one of the bloodiest battles of all time, but there is always a solution to a prob-

lem. In the famous Gettysburg Address, Abe Lincoln stopped the slave trade with only 10 sentences

and 272 words. It started with “Four score and seven years ago…” This is the most famous line in the

address.

Hershey Park

The park opened its first rollercoaster in the 1923,the Wild Cat. In 1970, they created the first loop-

ing coaster and a 330 foot tall kissing tower. In 2008 they added a rollercoaster in their waterpark. In 2011, the parks area covered 110 acres containing over 60 rides and attractions. Their waterpark is called The Boardwalk. Then in 2012, they created a rollercoaster called Sky Rush. Between 1991 to2012, Her-shey created nine rollercoasters. In 1946 to 1990 they created four more rollercoasters.

At Hershey, they have a couple of coasters called Great Bear and Super Dooper Lopper . On the other side of the state on the south side are the Amish. The Amish live differently than us. They are old fashion. We drive cars, they have coaches with horses. We wear sparkles and crazy things, they wear plain cloths. At Hershey park they had a ride called Dinosaur Go-Around but it was moved to the found-ers circle. Over the years there have been over 2,000,000 people who have visited the park..

The new tekkit

The new tekkit has a few new mods and a few mods taken out. The new mods are galacticraft and dimensional doors. With galacticraft you can go to the moon and get CHEESE, and space villagers.

Chimpanzees live in the tropical forests of

Western and Central Africa. They eat fig fruit.

Chimpanzees also eat nuts. They use rocks to

crack the nut shells. The way a chimpanzee

walks is called knuckle-walking. Although chim-

panzees are lighter than humans, they are

stronger because they have stronger muscles.

Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives.

They are endangered. There are approximately

Lately there are media sources passing around goats and lambs sing-

ing. Goats have been screaming and saying “Yeah” and “ohhhh” as part of

music videos like Taylor Swift’s “Trouble”. It has been noticed in the kids

choice awards for the goats. Goats have been used in the making of a robotic music style called

“Dubstep”.

Goats have sung in Skrillex’s famous song “First of the Year”.

Please do not eat goats! I am not with P.E.T.A but if you are not allowed to eat pork, beef or chicken, eat

rabbits. Look at the cute video of the lamb saying “Yeah” in front of a cute dog. When you see even 5

seconds of it, you will never eat goat. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rabbits are small, cute, furry, and funny mammals. A

rabbit comes in many different breeds and all look different.

They mostly eat hay, vegetables, some fruits, and rabbit pel-

lets. Rabbits are incredible jumpers and hoppers. They have

long ears , a Y shaped nose, a small mouth, a fluffy tail, and

see side to side. House rabbits are gentle, calm animals un-

like wild rabbits, who are very active. They like to sleep under

boxes and stools because in the wild they would have a bur-

row to keep them safe. They play with special toys that do

not have sharp edges and electricity. You want to keep them

away from them chewing electrical cords and wires that carry

electricity. They sometimes bite you to if you put your finger

in front of their mouth. Rabbits do some bad bunny stuff

sometimes but always remember that overall

they are great pets. I hope you liked our editorial

A chase is when the player on the receiving end of

the court hits the ball to the server and the ball

bounces twice without getting touched by the serv-

er. When a chase happens, the players must indi-

cate where the ball landed. To help them, there are

lines that have numbers and other representa-

tions.

There are 1st gallery, door, 2nd gallery also

known as last gallery, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Each

chase has a half between it. So if the chase is a

half, you would say chase a half a yard better than

what it was a half a yard better than. Once the re-

ceiver gets two chases, they switch sides.

Another difference is a hazard. A hazard is a

chase on the receiving end of the court. I have

named all of the score keeping so I should go on to

the rules.

The serving rules are very simple. The first

rule is you have to serve the ball behind 2nd gal-

lery. The ball must land on the penthouse. The roof

is a curved slant up high that goes around the

court. Once the ball hits the roof, the ball must go

past a line that is the limit to a hazard. The last

serving rule is there are three boxes on the receiv-

ing end and the ball is supposed to land in the 1st

or 2nd box. If someone serves and it does not do

any of these things, it is called a fault and the serv-

er gets another chance. If someone double faults it

is automatically the receivers point. I will now go

onto the match rules.

The match is best out of 3 sets and to win 1

set you must win 6 games before your opponent

does. Real tennis is a game of skill and strategy. It

is a very unpopular sport and there are only 41 ac-

tive courts in the world. It involves strategy and

skill when playing.

REAL Tennis By: Ben D. Everybody knows about regular tennis and

calls it “real tennis” but nobody really knows what

real tennis is. The modern game of real tennis has

been around for over seven hundred years and

there is only forty one courts in the world!

The difference between regular tennis and

real tennis is huge. First of all, the court difference

is huge. The court is way bigger and there is some-

thing called a roof where in order to get your serve,

one of the things you have to do is hit it on the

roof.

Another court difference is there is a little

glass window on the receiving end of the court

called the grill. If you hit the grill you automatically

win the point.

There are big differences between the rules

besides the score keeping. There are a couple of

differences with score keeping. The first difference

in score keeping is a chase.

Soccer is a sport played with feet instead of hands.

You do not use your hands only the goalie. You work as a team and score goals to help your team win. If you win or you lose you’re still a team. You can come up with a team name like, Thunderbolt. You can watch soccer on TV. Soccer is a Olympic sport and there is even a soccer world cup.

If the other team kicks the ball out you can use your hands to pass it in on the side lines. Once you pass it in, you use your feet to score a goal. There has to be 5 peo-ple on each side.

When you have the same points as the other team it’s called a tie. But when you get more goals than the other team, you win.

Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a very fun spring sport and is

great for two things, running and passing. I play la-

crosse myself on a team called the breakers. In la-

crosse you might get to meet some new friends.

In Lacrosse if you are lucky you will get a

good stick. I hope I am! On my team I had two

friends. We were pretty good and we were undefeat-

able, well until the finals. We made it far and maybe

you could make it to the finals just like my team and

I did.

Dungeon realms is a really cool Minecraft project in closed beta and is only in open beta some-

times. The details of this server is a custom programmed Minecraft to act like it is a brand new game

Check out the Minecraft articles I’ve written in the past to see some different mechanics. Mechanics are

very cool they have programmed in custom items such as armor and weapons. It is a great server but to

apply for closed beta you must apply at Dungeonrealm.net . They also have the guide but I cannot fully

explain the details since I want you to be surprised.

HOW TO BE A NINJA BY THE NINJA MASTER

Has anyone jumped off of a building, in a movie that you have seen, and you wish you could do the

same thing? Well, you can’t! You can make a lot of ninja things including an awesome ninja suit

out of house held items!!!

To get an awesome ninja suit get it at the Halloween store called spirit.

To make a sword you need:

2 paper towel tube

A wooden dowel

Tin foil

Black tape

Cardboard

Scissors

Clear tape

You will need to tape the 2 paper towel tubes together with the clear tape. Then, cut the card-

board into a circle with a hole in the center as wide as the end of the dowel. The dowel will be the handle

and the cardboard will make it so the paper towel tubes will stay in place. Next, rap the paper towel tubes

in the tin foil and tape it down. It will make it look like metal. Then, put the dowel in the cardboard ring.

Make sure it has a little more room than both your hands and tape it at that position. Finally, rap the

space your hands take up on the dowel with black tape. It will look like this:

Sim City 5 has come out, but it is BAD...like really bad. Like the company cares more about money bad. This game is a good game but you have to go through so much trouble to play it. I have not bought the game because you can’t even play it. It’s only online so you cannot play it offline. The game was bought by so many people since it was expected to be good. The game also bugs out since its being hosted on a server by Sim City! Many people are playing it at a time that all the servers are booked. Since I’ve got that part covered, I have heard a ton of complaints on how it’s mostly the same as all the other Sim City games (well maybe the graphics make a difference). There are a ton of knockoffs of this game or games like this since it was so good. Now I have to hack the game to be able to play it offline (not going to really hack the game—but that would be the only way). A very inter-esting fact about this game is that it was temporarily not sold for a week by the famous “Amazon” since so many people were complaining at launch. Don’t for-get the cousin of the spinning beach ball of death. O’ Timer of waiting the amazing 30 minute timer which will make you wait 30 minutes to connect to a server.

Bus Tug was a team of four kids: Ally and Dakota, (that’s one team) and the other team was Ka-rana and Gianna. They would play this on the bus everyday after school.

It all stared on March 20, 2002 when the four girls were on the bus (very bored). Ally had a scarf and Dakota was sitting with Karana. Ally got an idea. “Hey, do you guys want to play tug-of-war?” “Sure” they said. Ally and Dakota mostly always won. Sometimes Gianna and Karana would win too! These girls would play this game until they were in high school.

Dumb-Dumb the Cow

There once was a cow named Dumb-Dumb. She was not the smartest cow in the barn. Dumb-Dumb was always getting her head stuck in odd things like buckets and holes. One day, Dumb-Dumb got her head stuck in a ladder and started to wander onto Main Street. Dumb-Dumb heard a lot of honks and beeps but kept on walking. She heard a lot of shrieks and yelling but she didn’t stop. Dumb-Dumb had wan-dered so far that she made it onto the freeway. Dumb-Dumb heard people saying “Why is there a cow on the freeway with a ladder on its head?” or “911—cow on the freeway!” Dumb-Dumb finally got off the freeway and headed for the super-market. She tried to walk through the door, but with the ladder on her head, she had some difficulties.

In the supermarket, almost every aisle was tipped over and all the food was spilled over and opened. People of all ages were screaming and shouting. When the manager of the supermarket saw Dumb-Dumb, he jumped into somebody’s arms. People started running into each other and slipping on spilled drinks. Out of all the chaos, more animals showed up at the supermarket which ended up in wrecking even more things. The deli was being attacked by hens, the fruit was being squashed by the pigs, and the bakery was getting demolished by sheep! Then, at the door, Mr. Sisson appeared with a pitchfork. TO BE CONTINUED…

Mr. Sisson appeared at the door. Everybody stopped and stared at him. The pigs stopped squashing, the sheep stopped demolishing the bakery, and the hens stopped attacking the deli. People stopped screaming and shouting. Mr. Sisson looked around the entire supermarket. He saw the people and the animals. Then, he saw Dumb-Dumb which was the main reason he was there. He was there to capture Dumb-Dumb with his pitch fork. “How will I do that?” he thought. As soon as Dumb-Dumb saw Mr. Sisson, she started to run to the door. But was caught in Mr. Sisson’s pitchfork. Mr. Sisson was sad that he hurt the cow by stabbing her in the side, when he caught her. Since he felt so bad about hurting Dumb-Dumb he returned her unharmed to the barn she came from. Unfortunately, the next time Dumb-Dumb wouldn’t be as lucky again. Dumb-Dumb understood and mooed.

Now Mr. Sisson is a librarian at Gaudet Middle school. He is very happy with his job [probably]. Dumb-Dumb is now the President of the cow nation. Dumb-Dumb is happily married to Francesco Stanldi, III. They have one calf and soon will have two calves. Both cow and man are very pleased with their lives and lived happily ever after.

about green thumbs. Does anybody have green thumbs?” she asked. Emily

looked at her thumbs, they weren’t green! Emily tried to sneak to her desk to get

a green marker without Ms. Clifferson seeing. “Emily, what are you doing?” asked

Ms. Clifferson. “Nothing” Emily said as she scooted back to her seat on the rug.

“Why are you taking a green marker out of Maya’s desk?” whispered Colin. Colin

told Sydney, Sydney told Sarah, Sarah told Ben and Ben told Maya. “Why?? I

thought we were friends!!” shouted Maya. “What is going on!!!???” asked Ms.

Clifferson curiously. “Emily stole Maya’s marker”. “I smell something fishy” said

Ms. Clifferson, “Emily, go out in the hallway and think about what you have done”.

Emily went out in the hallway and did everything but think about what she had

done. Many things went through her mind. Was she going to have to go to the

Principal’s office? Will she get sent home with a note to her Mom? Is my Mom go-

ing to be mad at me because I went to the Principal’s office and a bad report?

“Emily,” called Ms. Clifferson. “UGH”, Emily thought since Ms. Clifferson had inter-

rupted her thinking time. “Are you ready to come in?” asked Ms. Clifferson. “No,”

Emily replied, “You disturbed my thinking”. “Okay then,” Ms. Clifferson mumbled

under her breath. “Come in when you’re ready.” Five minutes later, Emily went

into the classroom and had to write about what she had done. She also had to

write a letter to Maya apologizing for taking her marker. “Ms. Clifferson, Ms.

Clifferson” Emily shouted panicking, “Yes, Emily” replied Ms. Clifferson, “I really

need to go to the bathroom”. Ms. Clifferson replied, “Okay you can go, but don’t

make any trouble”. Emily quickly grabbed her green sharpie and left to go to the

bathroom. Emily actually didn’t have to go to the bathroom, she just wanted to

color her thumbs green. She took a long time, so Ms. Clifferson thought she actu-

ally was going to the bathroom.

“Emily” called Ms. Clifferson, “Yes,” replied Emily. “Please come

over to my desk so we can read the book”. “So, do you have green thumbs?”

“Well, actually I do” Emily said while she showed Ms. Clifferson her green thumbs.

“Oh,” she said. “that’s why you were trying to get the green marker” she ex-

claimed. “Green thumbs really mean that you love nature. So please go to the

bathroom and clean off your thumbs, then we’ll read the story” said Ms. Cliffer-

Part 2 of …THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF BOB THE MOUSE!

One sunny day, Bob the Mouse went into a restaurant looking for cheese. Suddenly, he spotted some blue cheese and started to eat it. Then he began to feel sick; so sick that he could barely talk. He looked at his fur and it was blue!! His stomach started to turn green.

Bob quickly ran out of the restaurant. He stepped down on the sidewalk and found a bucket of root beer. He jumped into the bucket of root beer. He then began to feel better by the minute, so he kept on drink-ing the root beer. As he started to get out of the bucket of root beer, some random noise caught his attention so he started running because it was a human chasing after him. He quickly ran into a little hole that could keep him safe.

In the quiet, misty air there was a cat! He was as quiet as he could be but then he stepped on a bone making some noise. The cat ran to the mouse hole. Bob was so scared that he changed into a regular mouse. As always, he tricked the cat by pretending that he was dead. The cat walked away hungrily. When the cat was gone, Bob walked to a place to get some food again. Meanwhile, some random person called the mouse patrol to go get all the mice in town! Bob went in the middle of the road where the tires are always at. As he was walking, some random car hit Bob’s tail. When the car left, some other mice came over and used their secret powers to heal Bob back to health. When Bob woke up, he saw a green coin that said, “GET LUCKY!” When he was about to grab the coin, some random thing came out and grabbed the coin. Bob said, “Hi, I am Bob. Are you Jessica Smith?” “Yes, I am Jessica Smith, and these are my friends, Mark, Jack, Shannon, and her child, Amy.” “Ok”, said Bob, “Do you want to go explore some more?” “Sure, let’s go!” said Jessica Smith.

My big bang theory is that God, in another universe, wanted to make something and He had the idea to make a NEW world. He probably failed once or twice BUT it again appeared to fail until…………

BOOM!!!! The big bang created the Sun and the stars and…stuff. Then 100 years later God got…you know…bored, so He played with some elements and made a planet that was blue and green that we know as… MARS! In its young, young stages there were all these little cells. God thought that was cool, so He made lots more planets which were different than Mars. The cells and Mars grew more advanced and I don’t mean beings in caves advanced! I mean they learned farming, cooking and…technology! The Earth had also advanced but now there were dinosaurs. God didn’t like all the violence between them so He hit them with a rock which also hit Mars except for two “humans”. All the water spilled into space and all plant life died. Then God moved the unconscious beings on Earth, and that story began. However, there was a colony in another dimension who altered their D.N.A. turning them into “aliens.”

It was a cool windy morning as Abby Griffin hurried into Greenfield Elementary School. It was her first day of 2

nd grade and unfortunately, she was already 5 minutes late. That was all because

her little brother Jake (the family’s blonde headed trouble maker,) took forever to get ready for his first day of kindergarten. Somehow, Abby had to stay and watch the whole thing. As she stepped into her classroom, every single kid in her new class was already sitting down at their desks, color-ing in their name tags.

“Good morning. You must be Abigail, right?”

“Yes, nice to meet you Mrs. Gazer. Oh, and you can call me Abby for short.” Abby hurried over to her small, wooden desk then, quickly sat down. She saw 5 new kids, but everyone else in her class she knew. After taking a tour around her elementary school and taking her first gym class, she sat down at her desk to get ready to take her first math test.

Abby always hated taking tests on the first day of school, and to make it even worse, it was math, her least favorite subject. When the teacher gave Abby her test, she screamed,

“5 PAGES! THAT’S THE LONGEST FIRST DAY TEST I’VE EVER SEEN!” After that every single eyeball in the room was staring at Abby. When she saw everyone looking at her, Abby slowly and embarrassed tilted her head toward her test.

“Thank you.” She mumbled. As everybody else started their 5 page math test, Abby angrily broke her pencil tip. She stood up and walked over to the pencil sharpener. As she jammed her Number 2 pencil into the hole of the class metal pencil sharpener, Mrs. Gazer started passing out the after school activities sheet. When Abby finished sharpening her pencil, instead of going back to her seat to start her test, she began roaming around the classroom looking like she was in a daze. “Abby please sit down and complete your test.” “Okay.” Abby answered. “Thank you,” said Mrs. Gazer. But, Abby didn’t bother to fill out her test and Mrs. Gazer was losing her patients. “ABIGAIL GRIFFIN! GLUE YOUR BOTTOM TO YOUR CHAIR!” “Gosh, that’s harsh but okay.” Abby mum-bled. So, that’s exactly what she did.

The glue bottle Part 2

Earlier in the issue you might have read “The Glue Bottle”. On the first day of 2nd grade Ab-

igail Griffon is about to glue her bottom to her chair! Read on to see what happens next!!!

Abby walked over to her desk, reached inside, and took out her glue bottle. She twisted the

top open and then thought, “This Elmer’s glue isn’t going to stick me to my seat, I need something

stronger, much stronger. Hey, I’ll use super glue!!” Abby then snuck over to Joe’s desk, who always

carried around a huge bottle of super glue and a paper towel roll. (No one knew exactly why!)

“Excuse me, Joe; can I borrow your bottle of super glue?” Abby whispered.

“Ummmm, okay?” Joe sounded confused but was also very happy that someone finally want-

ed to put his super glue to use! He handed Abby his bottle of super glue and Abby walked back to

her desk. She twisted the sticky top off and thought,” Here I go.” Abby started squirting the super

glue on her seat and then, as Mrs. Gazer had told her, she sat down on the sticky metal chair. Abby

yelled across the room, trying to show Mrs. Gazer the chair glued to her bottom. “I did it!” “ So you

finished your test... Oh my gosh! WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOURSELF?!” Mrs. Gazer screamed.

“Isn’t it obvious? I glued my bottom to the chair like you asked me to!!!!!!”Abby yelled. “Oh my gosh

Abigail I didn’t mean it literately!!!” Mrs. Gazer yelled, astonished. The young women stomped

across the room to where Abby was sitting. “That wasn’t a very smart decision to make Abigail. Now

let’s try to get this chair off your bottom.” Mrs. Gazer said, lifting the chair (which was also lifting Ab-

by). For the next few hours, Mrs. Gazer and the janitor tried to separate Abby from her chair. It was

almost lunch time when Abigail finally got her chair off her bottom! “I appreciate all of your hard

work trying to get my bottom separated from my chair.” Abby exclaimed. By then the janitor, Bill,

had glue all over himself and Mrs. Gazer had hired a substitute teacher to teach her students while

she helped Abby. Eventually, Abigail went back to her classroom, (she had missed lunch), and Mrs.

Gazer came back later and finished teaching for the day. When Abby got home later that afternoon,

her mother asked,

“How was your first day of second grade?” Abby lay down on the couch, nearly asleep and

said,

“Oh mom, it’s a long story!”

The Friendship Once upon a time, there was a small village called Upside-down Mania. In the village there

were two small girls. One was Diamond and the other was Emerald. They lived in a humongous

mansion with a perfect view of the ocean. They did not own the mansion sadly. They were the

slaves of the house for the evil Queen Ruby and King Peridot. They were the meanest people that

ever lived in the village. Diamond and Emerald were very sad and never felt happy.

One day Diamond was feeling brave. She decided to tell the King and Queen how she felt

and that she was leaving the village. When Emerald found out that Diamond was going to leave

the village she was heart-broken. Diamond was like a sister to her. They had been together since

the day they became slaves. Emerald decided that if Diamond was going to leave so was she.

Diamond slowly walked into her bedroom and saw Emerald packing her bags. “What are

you doing?” Diamond asked. Emerald replied,

“I heard that you were leaving, so I decided that I would go with you. Diamond shook her

head in disbelief, but told emerald the plan anyway.

Diamond and Emerald slowly walked up to the Queen and King. They told them they were

leaving and left in silence. The King and Queen were furious. They both yelled, “Get back to work!”

After Emerald and Diamond heard that, they ran faster and faster. They ran through the thick dark

woods and never turned back. It took them 3 days but they had finally reached the next town over

Awesome Amethyst Avenue. As they arrived they decided to split up. Emerald went one way and

Diamond went the other way.

Emerald and Diamond are still best friends but, live very different lives. Diamond got mar-

ried to the son of Duke Citrine and became a princess. Emerald married the Chief of the fire de-

partment and they had 3 kids. Both Emerald and Diamond love their new lives. They never saw

the king and queen again. Both of them hardly remember their old lives and they like it that way.

The Xbox 360 is my favorite console I always use it. It is very good

and has something that I like. It has private games, Halo 5. Halo has

come out but I only have the fourth one. I can’t wait until Halo 5 comes

out.

There are two or three types of Xboxes. One is called Kinect and it

is very awesome. It gives you two things at once; sports interactive video

games in which your body movements affect the controller and other

games such as Star Wars. That game allows you to use the force and a

light saber. The Xbox was released in 2005.
